Trusted experts

Cambridge’s trusted assessments give people the opportunity to show what they’ve learnt, enabling them to succeed.

We design assessments that are valid, reliable and fair; we ensure they test what they set out to test, giving students the best chance to demonstrate what they can do.

Our work is guided by one of the largest assessment research teams in Europe, and draws upon our unparalleled heritage in examinations.

We are committed to sharing knowledge and demystifying assessment through our research on assessment and through the extensive range of professional development courses and assessment guidance offered by The Assessment Network that build practitioner confidence and expertise around the world.

Technology

Over 160 years of heritage in assessment, we've constantly evolved and modernised how and what we assess.

As an organisation which shares the mission of the University of Cambridge, the learner is at the heart of what we do.

The range of qualifications and subjects we offer has expanded dramatically and we’ve embraced change in our exam processes and systems; from the early use of railways to distribute exam papers, to Cambridge’s early adoption of online marking.

We continue to explore the opportunities of digital technology including AI in learning and testing – from digital English tests taken around the world, to the UK’s first fully-digital GCSE, to how we are exploring AI’s potential to reshape education.
